Hermod 001

The Aesir
Squad Leader of a Special Forces Unit/Messenger of the Aesir

Hermod is the Squad Leader of a Special Forces Unit that is made up of Valiant warriors (dead heroes that have been reanimated). He is voiced by Keith Ferguson.

Norse Mythology Hermod Edit

The son of Odin and Frigg and the messenger of the gods. After the death of Balder, Frigg sought for one brave enough to face Hel, the ruler of the underworld and plead for his Balder's return. The great hero Hermod the Nimble volunteered to make this dangerous journey. He mounted Odin's steed Sleipnir and traveled to the underworld.

When Hermod came upon the gates of Hel, he jumped right over them and entered the great hall of the dead. There he saw Balder and he begged Hel to release him because Balder was loved by all so no-one could miss him. Hel was skeptical and agreed to release Balder on the condition that everyone and everything, should weep for Balder. If only one thing should not cry, then she would keep Balder in the realm of the dead. Hermod returned to the land of the living and told the gods what Hel's terms were. The gods sent messengers throughout the world, and every living thing wept. However, on the journey to return to the gods, the messengers met a Giantess, which was actually Loki in disguise, and she refused to weep. So Hel kept her dead.

Hermod carries a magical staff called Gambantein.

Physical Description and PersonalityEdit

Hermod speaks as softly, and as quietly, as he moves. Once he is directed by Heimdall, he is as unerring as a heat-seeking missile. He is a professional soldier the Special Forces type. He usually dispenses with pleasantries and gets straight down to business. When he does not speak, it is with quiet confidence acquired from the experience of thousands of high-risk missions.

Hermod is a powerful elite Aesir warrior and master of espionage that has been responsible for countless covert missions. He possesses enhanced strength, speed, agility, endurance, and durability as most Aesir warriors. He is also the quickest of the Aesir in terms of movement as he is swift, silent, and deadly in battle, relying more on speed and secrecy than brute force.

Battlefield Role in Too HumanEdit

Hermod takes orders directly from Heimdall and is often sent on clandestine operations by the administrator of Asgard. His tasks usually consist of missions to eliminate thieves, outlaws, and any other dissident mortals. He and his squad are also used to discover fresh bases, or nests, of monsters.
